About Gee's Trees

Gee’s Trees is a family-owned and operated tree service owned by Garrett and Alicia Taylor. And yes—there’s a story behind the name.

Years ago, people had a habit of forgetting Garrett’s name and simply started calling him “G.” When it came time to name the business, Gee’s Trees just seemed to fit—and it stuck. With 25 years of experience in the tree care and removal industry, Garrett and Alicia have built Gee’s Trees around experience, safety, hard work, and treating customers like neighbours.

Today, Gee’s Trees has grown into a close-knit crew that feels much more like family than employees.

Project Manager Brett Robertson and Garrett have been friends since childhood, and Brett was even part of Garrett and Alicia’s wedding party. Brett’s wife, Anita Robertson, heads up HR, while their son Jacob Robertson is one of the company’s lead climbers. Jacob’s wife, Braxton, works as part of the ground crew. Garrett and Alicia’s son, Logan Taylor, leads the ground crew, alongside Luke and Marcus, who help keep job sites running smoothly and safely.

From Simple Jobs to the Trees Others Can’t Reach

Gee’s Trees provides professional tree services throughout mainland Nova Scotia, handling everything from straightforward residential work to large, technical and hazardous removals.

Services include tree removal, tree pruning and trimming, stump grinding, storm cleanup and emergency tree work.

One of the things that sets Gee’s Trees apart is our ability to tackle large, hazardous and difficult-access trees where a bucket truck simply can’t go. Rather than relying solely on bucket access, our experienced climbers can climb and dismantle trees in challenging locations—including backyards, tight spaces and areas where large equipment cannot safely reach.

Our fleet includes multiple dump trucks, wood chippers and stump grinders, allowing our crew to handle jobs of many different sizes from start to finish.

For unexpected situations, Gee’s Trees also provides 24-hour emergency tree service for storm damage, wind damage, fallen trees and other urgent tree hazards.

Safety & Insurance

Safety is extremely important to us—for our crew, our customers and their properties. Gee’s Trees carries WCB coverage and $5 million in liability insurance, exceeding the standard $2 million coverage commonly carried in the industry. Our team also holds chainsaw safety certification and follows professional safety practices on every job.

Giving Back to Nova Scotia

Being part of a community means more to us than simply working in it.
For more than a decade, Gee’s Trees has operated a monthly charitable giving program. Each month, we choose a different charity or community organization somewhere in Nova Scotia. For every job completed during that month, we donate $50 directly to the selected organization.

It’s something we’re extremely proud of and something we plan to continue.

Free Firewood and Wood Chips

We also believe that materials from our jobs shouldn’t go to waste when they can help someone else. Gee’s Trees offers free firewood and free wood chips to people throughout the communities we serve.

Anyone interested can fill out our request form to let us know what they need. When we’re working in the area and have suitable wood or chips available, we can arrange to drop them off.

For us, it’s a simple idea: if something from one of our jobs can help another person or family, we’d rather put it to good use!
